Mike Dobson

I believe that next week Mike Dobson will be taking his workshop that he had to postpone earlier in the year. This will be a watercolour workshop so remember the correct equipment.

Mike is an established watercolourist, painting commissions and exhibiting in galleries and exhibitions around Yorkshire as well as teaching and tutoring around the region.

He is the Chairman of the York and District Society of Amateur artists and a member of The British Watercolour Society.
Mike took early retirement from North Yorkshire County Council and in 1995 he was awarded an MBE for "Services to young people and North Yorkshire County Council".

Free Painting 26th Feb

A free painting day today, so lots of different subjects here.
For some reason some of the paintings have taken on a stretched style image.
Click on the photo and you will be taken to a slideshow type view, which also reverts the photo to a normal aspect.

June Elsey, club member profile

Every so often the blog will feature a profile of a club member and considering there are nearly 40 then it will take some time to get through everyone.
First to take the plunge is June Elsey for no other reason than I asked her.
Thanks to Rod and Jean for providing me with the info below.

                                                                  June Elsey
June paints in watercolour and in oils in her own distinctive style, developed when attending classes and workshops over the past 15 years, and ‘with lots of practice’. Originally from Bradford, where she won art awards, June now lives near Selby, and belongs to the York & District SAA, Monk Fryston Art Club and Riccall Art Group.
In recent years June has begun to lead watercolour workshops, in her favoured landscape themes.
June exhibits her work regularly and frequently sells paintings. She has carried out commissions in the past.

A selection of Jean's work ..

Monday 19th February

Apologies for the lack of postings recently , I have missed a few due to work and then when I did attend it was a workshop by Rod Ward on perspective and drawing so had no real art work to show.

So today was a free  painting day and there is a mixed bag here. Always as ever I am totally impressed with the talent at the club and it is great to get away for a few hours and paint.

Onto the photographs....remember to click the photo to enlarge it and get a better viewing.
