Free painting AGM and Jane Lazenby update

The AGM took place today and there may be an update on that later but in the meantime paintings.

The usual answer to the question , "What is the UKs most popular owl" is usually the Teetowl (tea towel ) or the normal answer or The Tawny owl. Don't quote me on that.

However today's most popular owl was the one that Jane Lazenby did as a workshop last week.

Here are some of our efforts from last week and today plus a few other paintings

News about St Gemma's Hospice Leeds Art and Photography sale and exhibition.

St Gemma’s Hospice Leeds Art & Photography Exhibition & Sale 2016 in Leeds!

The 16th Annual Leeds Art & Photography Exhibition & Sale takes place in Leeds later this month and work by members of Monk Fryston Art Club will be on display, with all pieces available to buy.

The event will be held at The Grammar School at Leeds in Alwoodley.

A percentage of the sale price from each piece of art goes towards the vital work of St Gemma’s Hospice. As always, there will be work from a wide range of artists across the city - over 900 artworks in total - with something to suit every budget.

The exhibition runs from 27 to 30 October and costs £3 per visitor to view.

New members appeal

Monk Fryston Art Club

Invites new members

We meet every Monday afternoon between 1:00pm and 4:00pm at Monk Fryston Parish Church Hall.

You are invited to come along on any Monday to see what we do; perhaps to stay for the afternoon, with no obligation to join.

We have members at every level of skill, from beginners to accomplished artists. We are a friendly group, working in an informal setting, without a tutor, helping each other along with advice and encouragement.

We use all kinds of media; watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, charcoal, gouache, pen and ink; whatever you like, or want to try.  Some members even use their Monday afternoon to complete craft projects.

Half a dozen times each year we host a different visiting demonstrator, who will usually run a workshop or a paint-along, so that we are all involved, and we can all learn something new.

If you need more information, contact our President, Jean Dearn on 01977 682611 or email: jean.dearn@gmail.com
