Next Monday is the much awaited summer picnic painting day at the home of Elizabeth Preece. All the directions and arrangements are on the letter given out over the last two weeks or so.

So for those who haven't read their letter !

11am arrival (hopefully not 11pm as stated in the letter) with a welcome coffee on arrival.

12.30 approx, lunch with wine or juice

2.30pm tea break

£6.00 for the day. Bargain !

Happy painting

Mike Dobson demo workshop

We had the wonderful Mike Dobson for a workshop today.
He forgot his usual music accompaniment but we will forgive him this once.

So today's subject was a cottage , against an atmospheric sky with a few trees.

He also brought a few of his examples , so the first nine photos here are Mikes and the rest are the efforts we all did. Well most of us !

Mikes effort in development.

A little further on.

The rest from here are our efforts

And here is Mike assessing the entries.

Carlton and District art and Craft exhibition

Apologies for this unashamed blog post advertising a rival club.
Ok I know we aren't rivals really but it's a different club.

Carlton village hall has a small but slowly increasing group of artists that was started in oct 2012.

The village hall committee then asked that the club to support its first Art and Craft exhibition last year and it was well attended but not many sales I hasten to add.

So this is the second Village hall exhibition and they have again asked that the art club supports it this Sunday 15th June from 2pm till 4pm and there wil be refreshments on sale. Entry is £1.00

It is open to all residents of Carlton and surrounding villages not just members of the club.

There will hopefully be a few other crafts on show as well but I don't know too much about them

Certainly the addition of ex Carlton resident and now popular and very well known professional artist Steven !ingham will be the highlight.
He will be bring along one of his recent completed paintings of a bear that I've seen and is simply stunning. Priced at £3500 it would certainly grace any household.
However if you haven't got that kind of money he is also bringing along some cards suitable for any occasion and he has slashed fifty per cent IFC their usual price so will be on sake at just a £1.00 each.

Normal service will be resumed shortly

Due to my absence and a malfunction over the internet I have no photos this week for the blog.

Normal service will be resumed next week.
In the meantime here's some music.....

....nice isn't it ?

What do you mean you can't hear it !

Technology ! !

Okay how about a nice photo of a polar bear during a snowstorm .....nice isn't it ?

Free painting 2nd June 2014

A good  twenty paintings to admire here some in development and two or three finished.

Can I also unashamedly mention that Carlton Village is having it's second annual Art and Craft exhibition on a June 15th from 1pm till 4pm.
In attendance just to cast his eye over the paintings and crafts will be former Carlton resident and renowned wildlife artist Steven Lingham.
